Convert text to hexadecimal bytes/code points and back.
How it works
- In UTF-8 byte mode, text becomes hexadecimal byte values and decodes back through strict UTF-8.
- In Unicode code-point mode, each character is represented by its scalar value in hexadecimal.
Example
- “A” is 41 as both a UTF-8 byte and a Unicode hexadecimal code point; non-ASCII characters can use multiple UTF-8 bytes.
Assumptions and limitations
- UTF-8 bytes and Unicode code points are different representations and can produce different numbers for non-ASCII characters.
